eing a craft artist, I rarely exhibit in galleries or art shows (although some of my calligraphy
pieces are on public display). Instead I usually work privately on
calligraphy commissions or sell other finished craft items directly to the public as products, setting
up a self-contained display stall with my husband Chris Flynn and either showing at market craft
fairs or organising my own individual events.

hen displaying at Fairs, I usually show a range of
craft products and a variety of different works:
examples of signwriting commissions, types of wedding stationery
and other calligraphy art work. The degree of calligraphy woodcraft
on show depends on the event planned.

CALLIGRAPHY CHRISTMAS CARD WORKSHOPS
at RHS Garden Rosemoor, Great Torrington, North Devon, EX38 8PH.
Cost: £65 (RHS members: £54)
Two artistic workshops: One for children and the other for adults, where I will show how to design and make
Christmas cards using calligraphy influences. You will have the opportunity to try a variety of
different script styles and use gouache paint, felt tip pens, colouring pencils and to add some
sparkle, you will be able to try the art of embossing. As advertised in the

WORKSHOP - A CELTIC BOOKMARK
at Lyme ArtsFest, Town Mill, Lyme Regis, Dorset.
Cost: £12 per person (adults and children aged 14 or older)
Please note that places are limited to 10 maximum.
One of a pair of three-hour artistic workshops organised as part of Lyme ArtsFest.
On the Sunday I will teach how to design and make a Celtic bookmark, composed of a Celtic design with
a traditional message of Blessing/Protection set below and written with 7th century Irish Half Uncial
script. All materials needed will be provided.

On the Saturday I will teach how to design and make a Peace Card incorporating a Celtic capital letter 'P'
and using 10th century Foundation hand. All materials needed will be provided.

AUGUST GALLERY EXHIBITION
at Fuggles Art Gallery, Mangerton Mill, Nr. BRIDPORT, Dorset DT6 3SG
My first-ever gallery exhibition! And for a whole month!
Mangerton Mill
(5 miles north of Bridport) is a great "arts & crafts" centre set in a peaceful rural
valley on the river Manger. It has a 17th century working water mill and a Museum of Rural Bygones,
trout fishing and a riverside walk, as well as the
Fuggles Art Gallery and local crafts studios
(where a framer, a woodturner and several other artists work and sell wares).
Also a tea room for light lunches, cream teas and homemade fare.
