Calligraphy Teaching and Classes
or several years I have been hired periodically by Surrey Adult
Education Institute to organise and teach structured classes
in calligraphy. From time to time I also run private courses, usually
in my own studio workshop in Woking, Surrey for small groups of
three to five people.

aterials are easily obtainable (some provided free) for each class,
and the teaching is project oriented throughout. New students are often
surprised to find out just how quickly the basic techniques of lettering
and border decoration can be applied to cards and plaques for framing.
dvanced students are taught further skills such as writing on parchment, wood
and other surfaces, applying gouache and pastel colour work, and gilding.
