Wedding Commemoration Plaques

edding commemoration plaques are framed individual works of art created to commemorate days of marriage. Such plaques are usually either a wedding day dedication or an anniversary piece, and are often composed of a favourite poem or quotation in a commissioned setting. They combine the use of calligraphy (ie. handwritten scripting) and illumination (ie. illustrated decoration) to great effect.

he first anniversary of a marriage is called a "Paper Wedding Anniversary", making a calligraphy piece a very appropriate anniversary gift! Couples often contact me during their first year of marriage to commission something for their first anniversary. Below are examples of plaques commissioned using individual pieces of poetry or prose, sometimes ordered secretly by one partner as a surprise for the other!
